Washington, D.C. – October 14, 2011 – The Washington International Horse Show (WIHS), the country’s leading metropolitan indoor equestrian event based in Washington D.C. since 1958, is honored to announce a very exciting list of sponsors from the D.C. area.
“Washington International Horse Show is thrilled to have the support of several D.C. based companies. Some new and exciting, and some steeped in tradition,” says Bridget Love Meehan, executive director of Washington International Horse Show.
For 80 years Tiny Jewel Box has been bringing unique treasures to its clients. “If it’s not special, it’s not here” is the motto they use. The leading WIHS Hunter Rider and WIHS Jumper Rider will receive Rolex timepieces from Tiny Jewel Box. “We are very excited that Tiny Jewel Box will be working with WIHS to add something special to the show,” added Meehan. All the WIHS Champions will also receive a gift and Tiny Jewel Box will surprise guests of the show with some treasures as well.
Riot Act Comedy Theater just opened in D.C. and we are excited to welcome them to WIHS. Riot Act features the nation’s greatest comics while also providing a work place and open mic for local and aspiring comics. Each night of the Horse Show spectators will be entertained during course changes. Riot Act also will host the Horsin’ Around party on Thursday night in the Acela Club at Verizon Center. WIHS is thrilled to welcome back Georgetown Cupcake as a sponsor of the show for the third year. WIHS champions get a box of the now famous cupcakes. They are also available for free to kids 12 and under at WIHS Kids’ Day. This year the TLC television show about the shop and its owners, titled DC Cupcakes will be filming at WIHS on Barn Night! In addition WIHS has a partnership with Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian, the US Army’s Caisson Platoon, TAPS the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors and various local charitable organizations.
