Wellington, FL – October 15, 2012 – The College Preparatory Invitational Horse Show (CPI) is very excited to welcome Charles Owen back as a sponsor of the 2013 competition. The third annual College Preparatory Invitational will be held on January 18-20, 2013, at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center in Wellington, FL. The CPI looks forward to welcoming college bound hunt seat and dressage riders at the nation’s premiere College Equestrian Recruiting event, offering them more scholarship opportunities than ever. Applications to compete are being accepted, so please send in yours today! All college bound riders are invited to attend to explore their options for riding in college.
Charles Owen has officially signed on as a sponsor of the 2013 CPI, and because of their great support, the CPI will be able to double the amount of money for its High Point Rider Scholarships. The scholarships will award $2,000 each to the High Point Hunt Seat Equitation Rider and the High Point Dressage Rider, increased from the $1,000 originally set for the year.
Danielle Santos, Director of Marketing for Charles Owen & Co., explained that it is important to her company to support the sport at all levels, and sponsoring at the CPI provides the perfect opportunity to promote the nation’s up-and-coming riders.

“At Charles Owen, we believe in supporting events that provide an opportunity to give back to the rider community,” Santos stated. “CPI is a fantastic event for young riders to showcase their talents in front of universities and colleges that support riding. Scholarships provide another very important level of support for the exemplary student/rider who stands out at the event.”
In addition to their support of CPI scholarships, Charles Owen will be working together with Dover Saddlery. “Owen is committed to rider safety, bringing the latest technology and innovation to equestrians,” Santos noted. “Partnering with a retailer like Dover Saddlery, who is also a sponsor of CPI, allows Charles Owen the opportunity to fit and adjust a specific helmet for the rider.”

Long recognized as the leading innovator in rider safety and protection, Charles Owen incorporates the top three international safety standards and certifications into their vast range of riding helmets, giving equestrians the widest choice of styles without compromising protection. Each Charles Owen helmet represents over 100 years of safety innovation and technology. Riders that choose Charles Owen demand the best in safety, fit and style. Send In Your Applications to Compete in the College Preparatory Invitational
The CPI is still accepting applications to ride in the competition for both hunt seat and dressage riders. The most important application requirement to remember for the 2013 competition is that all hunt seat riders are required to submit a video via a YouTube link or DVD. The video must display the rider’s ability over fences and must be no longer than three (3) minutes. Please consult the CPI website at www.CollegePrepInvitational.com for application instructions.
CPI Management Change
College Preparatory Invitational Horse Show announces that Ms. Heidi Lengyel will no longer be involved with its annual event. Ms. Lengyel has resigned from her position with the CPI to pursue other interests, and the 2013 CPI event will be conducted solely under the management of Ms. Jeanne Rouco-Conesa.
About the College Preparatory Invitational
The mission of the CPI is to prepare and educate student riders in grades 8 – 12 about the format of college equestrian competition, encourage academics and horsemanship, and to provide the riders with resources to create their desired college equestrian experience. The show is specifically geared to promote college recruitment of equestrians by providing the opportunity for coaches and potential students to meet in person. The College Preparatory Invitational Horse Show is rooted in the belief that equestrian talent, not finances, should dictate a rider’s opportunity to be a part of a collegiate team.

Along with the competition, the CPI will offer seminars and question & answer sessions during the show. Riders and their families will hear about the college equestrian experience and familiarize themselves with the different associations that govern collegiate riding. There will also be a number or College and Universities present at the CPI to distribute literature and introduce the academic and riding opportunities, including scholarships, offered at their respective institutions.

More news and announcements will follow in the coming months as the CPI draws closer.
