Wellington, FL – June 29, 2015 – The 2015 Tropical Show Series, presented by Palm Beach Riding Academy, hosted its first competition this weekend on June 27-28, 2015, in Wellington, FL. Held at The Stadium at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center, competition for junior and adult amateur riders was held in the Van Kampen Covered Arena, one of the worlds’ largest covered riding surfaces.
The Tropical Show Series was created to establish a family friendly, old-fashioned horse show that encourages community camaraderie and good sportsmanship. Celebrating the year-round residence in the paradise that is South Florida, the entire show experience is tropical themed, with cleverly designed ribbons, amazing prizes, tropical drinks and island music filling the weekend. The show offers an elementary class schedule at one of the nations’ top show facilities at a very affordable price. Classes are just $10.
This weekend had a fantastic turnout and the Tropical Show Series would like to thank all of its sponsors and congratulate all of its competitors.
In the Deux Chevaux 2’6 Child/Adult Equitation division, the championship was awarded to Abigail Molea riding Red Drum, with Stacy Funston and Ima Hot Iron in reserve.
The Zoetis 2’6 Child/Adult Hunter championship went to Rushin’ and Casey Mangini with Irish Irons R Smilin and Taylor Battistelli in reserve.
Tabitha Webster and Warnickel earned the Clever Jumps & Trunks 2’3″ Child/Adult Equitation championship with Kyndal Mantuano and Cruise in reserve.
Mint Condition and Shelley Prince jumped to championship honors in the Huntley Equestrian Low 2’3″ Child/Adult Hunter division with Sir James and Charlotte Robinson taking home the reserve championship.
The Pure Bliss Day Spa 2’6 Open Hunter division saw a championship win for Border Patrol and Amy Foster with Alias Z and Amber Hopper finishing in reserve.
In the E3 Elite Equine Products Beginner 2′ division, Ansgar Holtgers guided Rosmel’s Sun Fairy to the championship and also finished in reserve aboard Silver Star Dynamo.
The Republic Construction Long Stirrup division saw a championship win for Pamela Mason-Egan and DaVinci.
The On Course Consignment Crossrail Equitation division was won by Amanda Muir and WR Esmeralda’s Millie By Caymus with Hannah Glanzberg and Silver Shine taking home reserve honors.
The Awesome Artifacts Leadline division saw a clean sweep for Hayden Ernst and One Fish, Two Fish to earn the championship, while Dalis Cahorskak and B’s Southern Belle claimed the reserve tricolor.
As the interest in Hunter Derbies has grown throughout the sport, the Tropical Show Series created a $2,500 Child/Adult 2’6″ Hunter Derby to introduce this wonderful event to the up and coming riders of the region. No professionals are permitted to enter the Derby- this highlight class is exclusively designed for Children and Adult Amateur riders, and features an impressive purse of $2,500 in total prize money!
The June show’s $2,500 Child/Adult 2’6″ Hunter Derby, sponsored by The Tackeria, saw a win for Patricia Monaco riding Daybreak. Elissa Trindle and Lennon finished second, and Jennifer Prior guided Sweet Catomine to third place honors.
The Tropical Show Series also partnered with the United States Hunter Jumper Association this year to include USHJA Outreach classes, the first of their kind being introduced in South Florida. These Outreach classes allow USHJA Members to receive National recognition for their placings.
In the USHJA Outreach Limited 2’3” Medal, sponsored by OnShore Roofing, Kyndal Mantuano jumped to victory aboard Cruise. The USHJA Outreach 2’6” Child/Adult Medal, sponsored by Swanky Saddle, saw a win for Jordan Hill riding Prestige.
In addition to fun competition, the Tropical Horse Show featured a free pizza dinner (sponsored by MaryKay & Jordan Hill) on Friday after schooling, and an awesome sit-down Tropical Dinner (sponsored by Tackeria) with fun activities for the kids on Saturday evening. Free dinner admittance for Saturday night is included with every stall purchase.
