Wellington, FL – April 14, 2015 – Kingsland Equestrian, designer and manufacturer of Kingsland Equestrian apparel and horse gear, is proud to welcome Laura Graves to its family of sponsored riders. Since Kingsland’s celebrated expansion to North America in the fall, Graves joins the ranks of elite sponsored dressage riders including British star Charlotte Dujardin, Danish rider Andreas Helgstrand, Spanish rider Morgan Barbançon Mestre, and many top show jumpers and eventers.
Graves is an accomplished international FEI competitor and USDF Gold Medalist. She has been studying the art of dressage for over 20 years. In 2014, Graves shot to super stardom with her horse Verdades when the pair earned a silver medal at the U.S. Dressage Championships and was named to the U.S. Equestrian Team for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. Competing in France, the U.S. team finished fourth, and Graves and Verdades placed fifth and eighth individually. Most recently, the duo won six classes at the 2015 Adequan® Global Dressage Festival in Wellington, FL.
Graves is based out of Apopka, FL, just outside Orlando, at her own CrossTies LLC. With Verdades, a 13-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding (Florett AS x Goya), she looks forward to representing the United States as a member of the Kingsland Equestrian team. Graves and Verdades will sport Kingsland Equestrian apparel in the ring at the 2015 Reem Acra FEI World Cup Dressage Final.
“I am extremely excited about being a Kingsland rider. It is a Norwegian company and to have the opportunity to represent them in our country is an excellent opportunity,” Graves stated. “I hope to be able to represent them the way that they want to see their company represented, and I hope I can help them gain exposure. The quality of the products is extremely high, and they all fit very well. I think they have a European flair in the clothes that we maybe do not see in some of our American brands. Every time I wear a Kingsland outfit, everyone is just throwing compliments at you, so it is easy to wear the clothes.”
Kingsland CEO Carsten Mikkelsen stated, “We are thrilled to welcome Laura to the Kingsland family. She is a great representative of the sport of dressage, and we feel she will be the same for Kingsland.”
Graves is excited to wear all of her Kingsland gear in the show ring this year, and has enjoyed wearing her favorite Kingsland polo in Florida this winter.
“So far this shirt is my favorite. It has been so warm here that I have not had a chance to get a favorite of something for colder weather, but I know they have an excellent line for cooler weather with hoodies and jackets and vests,” Graves noted. “This polo is awesome. It is extremely feminine, but it is the moisture-wicking performance fabric, which when you spend all day in a barn in this heat, it is extremely important that it wears well, washes well, and it looks great on top of it.”
“I am excited about being an ambassador for them in the U.S.,” Graves acknowledged. “It is always flattering to get noticed by an international company who is looking to use you to represent them in your own country. I am excited to kind of merge America with their European company.”
“Laura has become a household name in America,” said Gianluca Caron, Kingsland North American Manager. “We can’t wait to see her winning in the ring wearing Kingsland.”
Graves’ alignment with Kingsland Equestrian furthers an aim to support up-and-coming talent in horse sport.
Kingsland Equestrian apparel and horse gear will be available at the 2015 FEI World Cup™ Finals in Las Vegas, NV, through exclusive retailer Equis LLC at Booths 305-307-309.
