Lexington, KY – May 27, 2010 – G&C Farm had another good week at the Kentucky Spring Classic Horse Show in Lexington, KY, on May 19-23, 2010. Pablo Barrios rode G&C Farm horses to many top finishes this week. He also increased his lead in the $50,000 Hagyard Challenge Series, a rider bonus program. G&C Farm’s state-of-the-art jumper facility is based in Wellington, FL, and owned by Gustavo Mirabal.
Barrios had solid finishes in the two grand prix competitions last week. He and G&C LaGran, owned by Gustavo and Carolina Mirabal and Pablo Barrios, placed second in the $30,000 Hagyard Lexington Classic CSI 2*. They were double clear in 34.51 seconds for an early lead, just tipped in the end by two-tenths of a second.

Barrios rode G&C Quick Star 11 to fourth place in the $55,000 Mary Rena Murphy Grand Prix, CSI 2*. They went in the jump-off and were double clear with a time of 36.99 seconds, which would hold up for fourth place.
Mirabal said, “The two weeks in Kentucky were amazing. We won a lot of classes, but the most important thing is that we won with a lot of different horses. That means that our program is really strong, and Pablo is riding perfectly. He was the king of Kentucky!”
Barrios and Simply the Best continued their amazing winning streak in the Young Jumper Championship (YJC) Five Year Old division when they won two classes and finished fifth in the qualifier class. Riding G&C Quitvola d’Orval, Barrios was third in the YJC Six Year Old class.
Earlier in the week, Barrios rode G&C Leroy to first and second places in the 1.40m Jumpers, while G&C Lepanto was second. He also rode G&C Flash to fifth place in the 1.40m division. In the 1.45m Jumpers, G&C Sinatra was second, G&C Napoleon placed third, and G&C Tropigold was sixth.
Barrios rode G&C Flash, owned by Barrios and the Mirabals, to second place in the $20,000 Bluegrass Classic on Sunday while G&C Blanchee Z placed sixth.
Luis Larrazabal won a High Junior Jumper class on Sil McCarthy. The pair then returned for the High Junior Jumper Classic and won the competitive class.
G&C Farm will make a big trip up north now to compete at the Thunderbird Show Park BC Open Show Jumping Tournament, CSI-W in Langley, British Columbia, Canada on June 2-6, 2010. They will then spend five weeks competing at Spruce Meadows in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
