Wellington, FL – September 24, 2014 – G&C Farm and riders Gustavo Mirabal and Gustavo Arroyo continued their success in late summer on the European competition tour. Mirabal showed on the Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT) in such exciting venues as London, England; Lausanne, Switzerland; and Vienna, Austria, while Arroyo attended additional shows in La Coruña, Spain, and Arezzo, Italy. Mirabal continued his winning streak from this summer with G&C Leroy, who has now led the victory gallop in 14 classes this year. G&C Lucy also earned three winning performances with Mirabal, bringing the year’s total to an impressive 17 victories thus far. G&C Farm is owned by Gustavo and Carolina Mirabal of Venezuela and based in Wellington, Florida.

Mirabal gave thanks to his team for a smooth and successful competition schedule, including trainer Gustavo Arroyo, rider and trainer Luis Miguel Martinez, and groom Karine Dalle.
“This part of the year we have shown at London, Stephex, Lausanne, and Vienna, and every venue has been amazing,” Mirabal stated. “Showing in London was great. The feeling of jumping in such a great city is indescribable. Stephex in Brussels was wonderful. It was well organized and a beautiful place. Then showing in Lausanne and Vienna are always beautiful. We are finished for this year on the Global Champions Tour and next year Carolina and I will be showing in all of the LGCT shows during the year. Global Champions Tour is the best of the best.”
“I want to thank my trainers – Gustavo Arroyo, who has been training me in France and Luis Miguel Martinez, for his guidance during the weekends when I show,” Mirbabal added. “I also want to thank my top groom Karine for keeping the horses in top shape and for being competitive and pushing me always to win. My team takes all competition seriously, no matter the height we are jumping, and it is nice to have everybody focused on winning! I really appreciate this. I also want to thank all of the people that stay at the office, especially Iveth Landa and Carlos Mirabal. They take care of all the logistics and let me focus on riding and winning.”
Starting out the late summer season in London at the LGCT, Mirabal and his competitive horse G&C Leroy 136, a 12-year-old Oldenburg gelding (Looping x Grannus), were second in the 1.15m speed class. They returned to the winner’s circle in the CSI 2* 1.15m classic. Mirabal and G&C Lucy, an 11-year-old Belgian Warmblood mare (Lambada van Berkenbroeck x Darco), had a fourth place finish in London.
Moving on to Lausanne, Mirabal and Leroy won two classes in the CSI 2* 1.15m division. Mirabal moved up to the 1.30m with G&C Lucy and had just four faults.
The winning continued in Vienna for Mirabal and Leroy in the 1.20m division, along with a fifth place finish.
At the Stephex Masters show, Mirabal had the chance to show newer, greener horses. He and G&C Sicilia finished second and fourth in 1.20m and fourth and seventh in 1.10m with G&C Carmella. Martinez got into the saddle in the show ring and was sixth with G&C Connie.
Gustavo Arroyo had success at the CSIO Di San Marino show in Arezzo, Italy. With G&C Fredo LS, Arroyo won two classes in the Seven-Year-Old Young Horse division. On G&C Jartrum, Arroyo was second in the CSI 2* 1.30m class. Arroyo and G&C Quitador Rochelais were seventh in the CSIO San Marino Arezzo Grand Prix qualifier, and G&C Blue placed third in the CSI 2*. G&C Blue finished seventh in the 1.35m class at La Coruña.
The Mirabal family also had an exciting summer with the addition of son Gustavo Ernesto, who was welcomed to the G&C family!
G&C Farm is thrilled with their success this summer and looks forward to competing this fall at Jumping Parma in Italy, La Coruña in Spain, and the Gucci Paris Masters.
