Halifax, MA – May 11, 2011 – The Fieldstone Equestrian and Show Facility will play host to the finest horse shows in the New England region in 2011 with a premiere line-up of ‘AA’ hunter/four-star jumper competitions, featuring over $125,000 in cash and prizes. With brand new GGT German Geo Textile Footing™ in all nine show and warm-up rings, and various other updates to the show grounds, Fieldstone is ready for an exciting season. The 2011 Fieldstone schedule begins with the Fieldstone Spring Festival on May 18—22, followed by a brand new week of competition with the Plymouth Rock Hunter Jumper Classic on June 21-25, and concluding with the Fieldstone Summer Showcase on August 23-28.
Conveniently located in southeastern Massachusetts, The Fieldstone Equestrian and Show Facility is easily accessible from anywhere in the northeast region. The stunning show grounds offer competitors, guests and spectators beautifully manicured grounds, miles of trails and an exhibitor friendly atmosphere. Renovated in 2009, the facility boasts nearly 100 acres, equipped with nine all-weather GGT felt/sand hybrid footing rings, permanent and temporary stabling, ample parking, and a beautiful all-grass Grand Prix field.
The Fieldstone Spring Festival is quickly approaching and will begin the season on May 18-22. The Spring Festival is highlighted by many top classes, including a special $10,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby, which will be held on the beautiful grass Grand-Prix field. The picturesque field will also host a $25,000 1.35-40m Grand Prix and a $7,500 Welcome Prix. A full complement of hunter and jumper divisions will run at the show as well.
The exciting schedule continues in June with The Plymouth Rock Hunter Jumper Classic. Running June 21-25, the week will feature top classes, including a $2,500 2’9″ Hunter Derby, a $2,500 Pony Derby Classic, and $7,500 Welcome Stake. Two Junior A/O Jumper Classics totaling $7,500 in prize money, a $10,000 Open 3’3″ Hunter Derby, and the $25,000 1.35-40m Grand Prix will conclude the week.
Fieldstone welcomes a star lineup of judges, course designers and managers for the 2011 Spring Festival. Mr. Douglas Russell will be overseeing the Grand-Prix and jumper Rings, Mr. Nathan Panetta and Mr. Tom Hern will design for the hunters and equitation. Judges from all over the country will evaluate the competition, including Ms. Karen Healey, Ms. Susan Schoellkopf, Mr. Walter Lee, Ms. Jennifer Bradley, Mr. Jay Mullens and Mr. Chris Johnson. Fieldstone will welcome back Mr. Michael Morrissey as competition manager, and Mr. Shawn Clawson and Mr. Scott Clawson as show managers.
As the summer continues, more exciting news and details on The Fieldstone Summer Showcase will become available. Running August 23-28, the Summer Showcase will host a full lineup of top hunter jumper competition, including the New England Hunter Derby Finals with a $25,000 3’3″ Hunter Derby, $10,000 2’9″ Hunter Derby, and $10,000 Pony Hunter Derby. The week will finish with the Massachusetts Hunter Jumper (MHJ) Finals on Sunday, August 28.
