Tampa, FL – November 17, 2010 – Equestrian Life is pleased to announce that we have been selected as the Official Media Partner of the Seminole Hard Rock Reining Classic (SHRRC) presented by Silver Spurs Equine. This exciting and unique reining event will be held February 23-27 in Tampa, FL, at the Bob Thomas Equestrian Center. The event is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit, whose mission is to promote the equestrian sport of Reining, an FEI competitive sport.
“We are very excited to be partnered with one of the premier reining events in the United States,” said Deana Bergquist, President and Co-Founder of Equestrian Life. “We look forward to producing a television show about the event that will provide even broader exposure at a national and international television level for the fast-growing equestrian sport of Reining. We can’t wait to showcase this event via an entertaining television show that will make it clear to viewers why this sport is growing so fast.”
The SHRRC will be featured in the Equestrian Life television series, The Mane Event, which will show on HRTV and will be available for viewing online at www.equestrianlife.com.
“We will be filming and post-producing a television show highlighting the event’s competition and the overall experience of the event,” Bergquist explained. “Equestrian Life has been brought in to create a television show that will express why the SHRRC is such an incredible event. This Mane Event show will premiere on HRTV nationwide and will also be available online for viewing anytime, anywhere.”
A pre-event commercial for the Seminole Hard Rock Reining Classic was produced by
Equestrian Life and shows how much a unique event like the Seminole Hard Rock Reining Classic has to offer. It can be viewed at www.equestrianlife.com/videos/watch/1227/Seminole_Hard_Rock_Reining_Classic.
The Seminole Hard Rock Reining Classic is the first major NRHA event of 2011, and this World Class, Class A Reining event offers a $45,000 Added Derby and two slates of NRHA Ancillary divisions. For lucky winners, Continental Saddlery trophy saddles made exclusively for the event will be awarded to the High Point winners in 10 Ancillary divisions. Gist Silversmith trophy buckles, and very special Hard Rock Fender electric guitars will be awarded throughout the show as well. Over $100,000 in prize money will be distributed over this five-day event.
In addition to top competition, the SHRRC is a very unique event that hosts entertainment for everyone to enjoy once they are finished showing. Sports and entertainment attorney Frank Marley is the founder of the SHRRC and owner of Some Kinda Shine, the only Appaloosa stallion competing at major NRHA events. Marley wanted to see an event where there was more than just the horse show and came up with the idea for the Seminole Hard Rock Reining Classic.
“I ended up just doing it on my own and got a lot of support from my clients outside of the horse industry. One thing that I always felt was that Reining has a lot of crossover appeal because it’s exciting. I thought I would throw a party that just happened to have a horse show in it,” Marley said with a smile.
Marley added, “Having Equestrian Life at the SHRRC will be a fantastic addition. Their coverage of equestrian sport is second to none, and we are thrilled that they will be a part of the event.”
The SHRRC is very pleased to welcome their presenting sponsor, Silver Spurs Equine, owned by Michael and Michelle Miola of Cave Creek, AZ. Marley said, “Silver Spurs Equine is a world-class sponsor and one of Reining’s premier ownership groups boasting an incredible stallion roster. We couldn’t be more honored and proud to have them as our presenting sponsor.”
Miola expresses his excitement about the Silver Spurs LLC/SHRRC partnership, “My initial reaction was very, very favorable because SHRRC took a different approach to an NRHA horse show where it adhered to all of the rules and regulations, but at the same time added a nice feel and flavor to the show, so that there was a draw for spectators as well,” said Michael Miola. “We want to really give everyone at the Seminole Hard Rock Reining Classic a big dose of Silver Spurs hospitality and make sure they have a fantastic time. We’re going to make sure we knock their boots off with great Reining and great entertainment!”
Joining the SHRRC this year as horse show manager is Amanda Brumley of Brumley Management Group. Marley brought Brumley in to help streamline the event’s competition and help produce one of the best NRHA events of the year.
From “Reining’s Future Champions” Short Stirrup classes sponsored by Dave and Kim Moore and Sheridan Oaks Stable to the Open Derby sponsored by Silver Spurs Equine with the world’s best riders, there’s something for everyone at SHRRC. About Silver Spurs Equine
Silver Spurs Equine, based in Cave Creek, AZ, is home to some of the finest American Quarter Horse breeding stallions, brood mares, and competition horses in the sports of reining and cutting. Silver Spurs owners Michelle and Michael Miola and Director of Training, the legendary Brett Stone, created Silver Spurs out of their love of the American Quarter Horse. Their goals are threefold:
1. To create the most elite line of reining and cutting horses in the world;
2. To demonstrate to the world that world-class competition horses can be trained with love instead of the whip; and
3. To make their stallions affordable so that everyone has a chance to breed and train a future champion instead of just an elite few.
To launch Silver Spurs on its quest Michelle, Michael, and Brett set out to find the best breeding stallion they could to make an immediate impact in both the reining and cutting industries. In 2006 Silver Spurs breeding program was launched with the legendary Boomernic. Today, not only will one find Boomernic and Docs Fritzie Command, Silver Spurs has continued its quest to acquire the finest breeding stallions in the world.
