Wellington, FL – May 23, 2012 – Double H Farm, owned by the Harrison Family and based in Wellington, FL, and Ridgefield, CT, recently completed competition at the Kentucky Spring Horse Shows following a successful winter at the FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival (FTI WEF). They are now looking ahead to the summer show season with grand prix jumpers, young jumpers, and up and coming hunters.
Double H Farm offers quality hunter and jumper sale horses in addition to their strong line-up of stallions available for breeding. This business expansion has helped the riders at Double H Farm become stronger and more successful in the equestrian industry.
“While Double H Farm was founded originally to support my riding career, it has expanded into a full sales, breeding, and competition business,” said Cayce Harrison. “We love bringing along young, talented horses and finding them new homes where they can grow and be successful for their owners. We also offer breeding services to seven incredible stallions that can produce the next generation of show jumping stars. I think by learning the ins and outs of breeding and sales, it has helped us have a balanced, successful business.”
A recent sale for Double H Farm, Bonaparte Z, is in California competing with new owner Kristi Siam. They were reserve champions in the Amateur-Owner Hunters in their first show and won the Amateur-Owner 3’3″ Hunter Classic in their second show. Double H Farm would like to congratulate them on their success!

A Great Start to the Summer in Kentucky
Double H Farm brought their string of show horses to the Kentucky Spring Horse Shows for two weeks in May.
At the second week, the Kentucky Spring Classic, Quentin Judge had a top placing in the $75,000 Mary Rena Murphy Grand Prix, CSI 2* with his Olympic Trials horse, HH Carotino. They had just one time fault to finish in seventh place.

“He was very good both weeks. We didn’t do much between the Olympic Trials (in late March) and Kentucky. He was a little surprised at how big they were the first week, but the second week he felt really comfortable,” Judge remarked.
Judge rode HH Sandor to the win in the 1.35m Jumpers, while he and HH Rosine de Beaufour were third in the 7/8 Year Old Young Jumpers. Judge rode HH Caballero in the horse’s first two 1.45m classes in Kentucky and they finished clear in one class and with four faults in another.
“Caballero is just starting to jump bigger, and we’re excited to see how he progresses this summer in Calgary,” Judge said. “Sandor is a really good speed horse. He normally jumps bigger classes, but he had a break after circuit and we’re letting him start back slowly. We wanted to be back in shape before the summer starts. He’s good at any height, but especially in those classes. You don’t even have to try and go fast; he just does it.”
Speaking about HH Rosine de Beaufour, Judge stated, “She’s just seven years old, and we bought her at the end of last summer. We have really high hopes for her future. She was great all through Florida and in Kentucky. She didn’t show much in Florida because she’s so advanced for her age; she goes around like seasoned horse. We’re waiting for her to get old enough so we can start to do more with her. She was clear every day both weeks in Kentucky and then third in the final 7/8 Year Old class on Saturday. We’re going for experience and to get to know her.”

By expanding the Double H Farm business, Quentin Judge is working with clients to help train their horses and get them ready for competition. Riding for Legacy Stables, LLC, he was fifth in the 7/8 Year Old Young Jumpers on Quapitole des Forets and ninth in the Bluegrass Classic on Champ 163. Young rider Christina Kelly won the $5,000 1.45m Open Jumper jump-off class on HH Narcos du Marais.
Earlier this month at horse shows in Lexington, Virginia, rider Ramiro Quintana competed for Double H Farm with two horses. HH Cantino won a 5 Year Old Young Jumper class in the first week and placed second and sixth in week two. HH Concetto was second in the 7/8 Year Old Young Jumpers in week one and finished third and fifth in the second week. Quintana will compete with HH Sandor in grand prix classes this summer.
Competing and Winning at the Best Circuit in the World
Double H Farm started out their 2012 show season at the FTI WEF and had very strong finishes from multiple horses and riders. Olympic gold medalist and Double H Farm rider Rodrigo Pessoa had great success on HH Palouchin. The pair won eight major 1.40m or 1.45m classes during the 12 week circuit, including three FEI ROLEX ranking classes. The pair won the G&C Farm 1.45m Jumper circuit championship.
Pessoa bred HH Palouchin, who is by his famous mount Baloubet Du Rouet, out of a Chin Chin mare. “He has a lot of blood and he is really determined to go. For him that is clearly the thing, but he is a great horse. We’re very lucky to be able to count on him in those classes. He brings a lot of first place ribbons. Double H Farms and I, we are really lucky to have him in our string. It is always good for the morale to win classes and that is what he does best,” Pessoa said.

Quentin Judge had an amazing winter circuit, which included a clear trip in the second round of the USEF Selection Trials for U.S. Show Jumping Team for the 2012 Olympic Games with HH Carotino, a 2002 Holsteiner gelding by Caretino x Corrado I.
Judge, who is just 25 years old, went in looking for experience in the trials. “I’m went into the trials thinking I’m going to try and have the best rounds I can, ride my horse well, listen to my trainer, and execute the plan.”
Of HH Carotino, Judge described, “Last year was his first year jumping grand prix. He started in Ocala and last year was my first jumping grand prix myself. He was a little bit difficult in the beginning. I took him to a few shows and indoors and was trying to figure him out. He’s very sensitive and needs a little bit of a specific ride. We’ve just started to come along and figure each other out. He was amazing. That was the biggest and the best he’s jumped.”
Judge’s and HH Carotino’s success was not merely in one round either. They placed fourth in the $32,000 WEF Challenge Cup Round 3 and were second in Round 5 of the grand prix series.
Riding HH Sandor, Judge won two classes in the highly competitive G&C Farm 1.45m Jumper division back to back in weeks four and five. Making the switch to the hunter ring, Judge won with HH Copyright in the Pre-Green 3’3″ Hunters in week seven.
Winning two weeks in a row in the International Arena against large fields of top show jumpers is a great feat for any rider. For Judge, it meant a lot. He expressed, “I’m always trying to do as well as I can. I have a really great team of people helping me and supporting me, with the Harrisons, Norman Dello Joio who trains me, and Rodrigo, all of these people. It’s really good to show some results and have some success for them. I try to keep going consistently and do well.”
Junior rider Genevieve Zock was another rider that kept winning at the FTI WEF. Riding HH Bonaparte Z, Zock picked up a victory in the Perfect Products Equitation 15-17 3’3″ and was second in the Platinum Performance USEF Show Jumping Talent Search. In week 11, they were reserve champions in the Antares Large Junior Hunter 16-17 division after they placed first, second, and second. Zock rode HH Confession to four first place and two second place finishes in the equitation and medal classes at the FTI WEF.
Other top Double H Farm performances included HH Himself, ridden by Havens Schatt in the Pre-Green Hunter 3′ division, who was reserve champion. Christina Kelly and HH Narcos Du Marais had two second place finishes, in the $20,000 Artisan Farms Young Rider Team Event and the $6,000 Spy Coast Farm 1.40m Speed Challenge. Ramiro Quintana rode HH Love Train to third place in the $1,000 Adequan Five Year Old Young Jumpers. Hunter Julo was champion in the Low Children’s Hunters in week 8 with Jefferson. They won two over fences clases and picked up a fourth place.
Double H Farm will compete next at the Spruce Meadows Tournaments in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, from June 6 to July 8.
