For Immediate Release
Ridgefield, CT – August 11, 2014 – ‘Anne’s Night,’ an evening to celebrate the life and philanthropy of Anne Heyman, is pleased to announce the line-up of fantastic entertainment for the fundraising event on September 13th. Held at Double H Farm in Ridgefield, CT, and coinciding with the top show jumping event, the American Gold Cup, ‘Anne’s Night’ will feature three incredible artists: Five-time Tony Award-winning Kelli O’Hara, Grammy Award-nominated Sophie B Hawkins, and The Max Weinberg Band (drummer for the E Street Band) with vocalist Curtis King. The night’s emcee of entertainment is show jumper and show jumping television analyst Jimmy Torano.
Jimmy Torano, a grand prix winner and top equestrian trainer, will be the Master of Ceremonies for the night. Having commentated at last year’s American Gold Cup and at the Winter Equestrian Festival for television coverage on NBC Sports and CBS Sports networks, Torano has both a strong connection to the equestrian audience as well as a flair for public speaking.
Anne Heyman, a former New York City assistant district attorney and a philanthropist, founded a youth village in Rwanda for children orphaned by the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsis. Tragically, she died after falling from her horse while competing in Wellington this year. Anne’s work has been so inspirational to the equestrian community that her friends, family, and fellow riders are hosting an evening to benefit the Agahozo-Shalom Youth Village which houses, nurtures and educates 500 children.
The Harrison Family will host the event at their beautiful Double H Farm in Ridgefield, CT, a few minutes from The American Gold Cup show jumping event, at 7 PM. Becky and David Gochman will also be sponsoring the evening. The party will be ‘Safari Style’ .
Please join us by helping to continue her efforts for these children and many others. Even if you cannot attend the event, you can still contribute by donating money or becoming a sponsor.
