Upper Marlboro, MD – August 4, 2011 – The Capital Challenge Horse Show is pleased to announce that the prize list for their 2011 competition is now available online at www.capitalchallenge.org. The prize list will be mailed this week as well. Running October 1-9, 2011, the prestigious Capital Challenge Horse Show will return to Prince George’s Equestrian Center in Upper Marlboro, MD, this fall to mark its 18th year of exceptional equestrian competition. The 2011 show begins with the Capital Challenge Equitation Weekend, presented by Bigeq.com on October 1-2, and then continues through October 9 with top hunter, jumper, and equitation competition.

If you are not on the mailing list for this year’s prize list, it can be easily downloaded off the horse show website. Exhibitors will notice a few additions in this year’s prize list, including a split in the 3’3″ Amateur-Owner Hunter 18-35 and 36 and Over divisions as well as the exciting addition of a 3’6″ Performance Hunter Division.
As always, the entries for the Capital Challenge are on a first come, first serve basis, with only a limited numbers of horses allowed in each division in order to keep the time schedule manageable. The closing date for entries is before midnight on Monday, August 22, but it is highly recommended to get entries in early as divisions fill quickly.
Highlights of the 2011 Capital Challenge Horse Show will include the North American Equitation Championship (Oct. 2), the Taylor Harris Insurance Services (THIS) National Children’s Medal Finals (Oct. 2), the World Champion Hunter Rider (WCHR) Emerging Pro Challenge (Oct. 5), the Future Hunter World Championship (Oct. 5), the WCHR Professional Finals (Oct. 5), the $2,500 WCHR Amateur-Owner 3’3″ Challenge (Oct. 6), the North American Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Challenge Cup (two rounds held on Oct. 7-8), and the ARIAT National Adult Medal Finals (Oct. 7).


Capital Challenge prides itself on being a show for exhibitors, offering a fantastic facility, extensive winner’s presentations, great hospitality, and a great range of competition for riders of all levels. They host more than 1,000 horses, award 25 perpetual trophies, honor more than 25 perpetual World Championship Hunter Rider (WCHR) trophy winners, and host special presentations for every class winner.
