Upper Marlboro, MD – August 5, 2010 – The Capital Challenge Horse Show is pleased to announce that their prize list is now available online at www.capitalchallenge.org. It will be mailed this week as well. The 17th edition of the Capital Challenge Horse Show will be held this year at the Prince George’s Equestrian Center in Upper Marlboro, MD, with competition in the outdoor ring and indoors in the Show Place Arena. Starting with the Capital Challenge Equitation Weekend, presented by Bigeq.com, on October 2-3, the horse show continues on October 4-10.
If you are not on the mailing list for this year’s prize list, it can be easily downloaded off the horse show website. Exhibitors will notice a few additions in this year’s prize list, including a new Future Hunter 3’3″ division and the $2,500 WCHR Amateur-Owner 3’3″ Challenge.
As always, the entries for the Capital Challenge are on a first come, first serve basis, with only a limited numbers of horses allowed in each division in order to keep the time schedule manageable. The closing date for entries is before midnight on August 23, but it is highly recommended to get entries in early as divisions fill quickly.
Highlights of the Capital Challenge Horse Show will include the North American Equitation Championship (Oct. 3), the Taylor Harris Insurance Services (THIS) National Children’s Medal Finals (Oct. 3), the World Champion Hunter Rider (WCHR) Emerging Pro Challenge (Oct. 6), Future Hunter World Championship (Oct. 6), $2,500 WCHR Amateur-Owner 3’3″ Challenge (Oct. 7), the North American Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Challenge Cup (two rounds held on Oct. 8-9), the ARIAT National Adult Medal Finals (Oct. 8), and the WCHR Professional Finals (Oct. 8).
